does anyone else have to transition their LO to a sleep sack already? my girl is a month old but i go back to work at my daycare in two weeks, and my state doesn’t allow any babies to be swaddled, no exceptions. transferring her to her crib is so much harder now and she doesn’t stay asleep as long 🥲🥲

My mother in law wouldn’t let me swaddle her, it was annoying but she has always been active with her hands and she rolls and she’s only 1, month, we only ever swaddle her bottom half during naps and sleep sack at night since 2 weeks old.

Yes I use a sleep sack ! My girl is 7 weeks and hates having her arms down so the sleep sack usually works well for us. She does startle herself easier than bring swaddled though

i thought i wouldn’t swaddle her, but that second night in the hospital had me rethink that 😠glad im not alone though

i swear the startling is the worst part, it’s miserable ðŸ˜

Make sure to put her bottom down first and kinda do a reverse sit up (uncurl) her the rest of the way down, you’ll avoid the startle reflex that happen if you roll her or have her back touch first. Should help transfer.

know I was like but the doctor said she’ll sleep longer, she was fine for 1.5 and then she started waking up and rolling to her side so, I’m not surprised I have always slept on my side lol

thank you so much omg i was struggling

We used the Merlin Sleep Suit as a transitional thing for my first. It worked really well bc it still helps to muffle the startle reflex. Maybe you can see if they allow that?
I will attempt a sleep sack with my daughter soon and if she isn’t sleeping well enough, I will use the Merlin sleep suit again but it would be easier to go straight to the sleep sack
