I’m 37 weeks and was 8 stone before I became pregnant I’m now 12 stone. This is worrying me as that’s a lot of weight gain. I’ve googled and it says average 1-2 stone weight gain. I’m worried I won’t be able to get it off. I’ve been going to the gym and walking throughout the pregnancy too! Don’t know why I’ve gained so much!

The average is 1-2 stone which means some people put on far less (including those with the really bad sickness diagnosis who often loos weight) others put on a lot more. Do not judge yourself by what happened for other people.
You will lose weight when baby is born, and probably for a few weeks after as your body recovers.
Give yourself time to enjoy baby before thinking about diet and exercise. Although when you feel up to it a daily walk would be great for your mental and physical health and great for baby to get out in the fresh air.

Yes, that's average. However, the same guidelines will tell you if you're smaller and have less fat reserves, then you can expect to put on more weight. 8 stone sounds v light, unless you're under 5 foot tall? I was 10 stone at 5'3" and now I'm 12.5 stone, and to look at me, 90% of that looks like bump. If you've put that much weight on, it's only because you needed to to provide for your growing baby. It sounds like you're pretty fit and active and won't struggle to lose any extra weight you're unhappy with after giving birth. Try not to worry x

Apparently around 2 stone is an average baby weight gain and that’s just baby and fluid alone. I was about the same as you before pregnancy now I’m 11 stone. I wouldn’t worry too much

Don’t forget you also have swelling/ more retained water levels ect.. I wouldn’t worry too much about weight gain as your body likely has also changed shape a little in this process.
