8 week jabs - tips for coping/what to expect?

My baby girl has her 8 week injections tomorrow and I am so nervous - we’ve been having a tough time of witching hours in the evenings anyway so I’m so nervous about what she’s going to be like after the injections!

Try not to stress about it too much not all babies have a tough time with them, from memory my older ones were a bit sleepy with them for a day or so but that was it. As has already been said Calpol and cuddles should get them through if they are struggling.
Although my LO is coming up for 11 weeks still waiting for hers so can’t tell you my latest experience thanks to no available appointments 😞

My girl has her injections tomorrow too! I’m also nervous 😫😫

Calpol straight after, lots of cuddles. My little one was very clingy the night of injections but that settled the morning after and then she was just more sleepy than normal x

If I remember from my 1st, he had a temperature and wanted to be held and fed lots (it was during an August heat wave and his room was 36 degrees that night - I didn't sleep much and kept checking him, he slept fine though)

I don’t remember this from my first but nurse told me to do 3 doses of calpol without any doubt as temperature can spike anytime within 24 hours. So she advised not to wake her but when awake overnight to not miss it if over 6 hours and to make sure she got 3 doses in. Also advised that one of the vaccines gives wind / potential bad poos and I noticed a difference for a day or two which caused a little bit of unsettling but nothing major.
I had 2 nurses who simultaneously injected both legs to make it a lot quicker!! They also have one oral sugary medicine which is thick and sticky.
It’s over before you know it. Deep breath xx

I actually had different advice from my nurse. She said to definitely give her the first dose and then wait and see if she gets a temperature then give it again but not to give the three if not necessary. Not that it mattered bc my baby spit it all up.

My boy had his today. It’s hard at the time when they cry. We took the paracetamol to the appt and the lovely nurse administered it to him. Which helped him not spit it out everywhere. Then we gave another two doses throughout the day. He was running warm & very sleepy & took less at feeds. Mostly just wanted cuddles bless him. Overall not as bad as I expected. We also did an evening bath and soaked the plasters to be easier to come off as well 🥹🥰 good luck!
