Single mums who decided to be 1 & done but initially wanted more than one child.

Did any of you decide that you didn't want another child as you didn't want more than one baby dad?

I have a LG & REALLY want her to not be an only child but I can't imagine having another child with my partner - he's not the person I thought he was.

My mum has 3 kids by 3 different men & I REALLY didn't want that for me. I wanted all my kids to have the same dad.

I'm just curious to hear from the women who initially wanted more kids but decided not to, purely for the reason that they didn't want multiple baby dads for their kids.

Also, it's no judgement at all. If me & my partner break up (which is looking likely), I might change my mind & have another child as I don't want my daughter to be an only child. Ugh. I hate life sometimes.

I felt like this when I had my daughter, I refused to have anymore kids with him and left the relationship. Then I met my son's dad. My kids are 12 years apart because I went back and forth so much with myself. Sometimes I hate the fact that I have 2 bds but my son's dad is more of a dad to my daughter than her actual dad and I wouldn't change their relationship for the world.

I feel this so much! I had an absolutely wonderful pregnancy and birth and there are so many things I know now that would make it even better. I also know my daughter would be a great big sister. But separating from her father has me thinking another will never happen. Because I really can't see myself starting over with someone new and also don't want children with multiple people. But I'm keeping myself open and know that if I get with someone new, the relationship will have to be way better than my last and if it's great then maybe having kids with them will be something I'll consider. I guess from someone in a similar situation I'd say just keep yourself open and don't settle for less than you deserve from a future partner ❤️

that's so true 💕I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling this way. I'm 32 this year & I think the later I leave it, the harder it's gonna be 🥹

I actually had my second daughter with my ex husband for this reason. I knew I wanted another, but also knew our marriage was over. But I didn't want multiple fathers. And not because I judged women who did. Just that my experiences of women who did were not healthy examples.

That being said. I now have a son and am expecting a little girl with my current partner of 8 years. The right man may change your mind some day! My current partner is an amazing father! And he's amazing to my girls! Don't give up hope honey!

Whatever you choose, choose what's right for YOU!

thank you for sharing lovely🥰.. Apart of me wonders if I should just have another with him & then leave but that sounds terrible when my feelings for him are going😬

Personally wouldn't recommend. It really puts the kiddo in the middle. My ex didn't bond with our second for years.

fair point 😬😩

Honestly I would just get it over with before you guys break up. You already have to deal with him forever or whatever. If you find the one in the future and decide for more, great. But I stick with my first because who knows what would happen with the next guy anyways then I could end up with two custody arrangements two schedules. Idk I don’t think y’all need to be in love for you to get your second kid.

The more I write this the crazier I sound. But it kind of makes sense lol. I really dk.

dang that’s terrible. I didn’t consider that. Did you feel like it was because the love was broken at that point between yall that he didn’t bond with the second kid?

Avatar

yeah that was my thinking too.. I just can't stand him 😂.. Ugh.. I need to have a good think.

it's because 1.) he wouldn't leave so I had to. Which was horrible because we lived with my mother. But he wouldn't leave. We weren't on her lease so she was scared. I told him I was done in Jan. He continued to stay until May. It was so stressful. So I ran for the hills and took our 3 month old with me. I didn't trust him with her so he hardly got her. My oldest was 4 at the time.

He also resented me and so I believe he resented her. He was never faithful to me and projected that into me so I don't think he believes she was his for some reason. Even though he took was "actively trying" for a second baby. All the while looking for a new partner. In the week before I found out I was pregnant after struggling for 9 months to conceive he had run off to ANOTHER STATE to meet up with this girl he met on the internet. The night before I found out we had made an arrangement for visitations with the oldest. When I found out we decided to try and work it out. But he continued to lie and cheat for the next 8 months. So I stopped pretending in Jan. Our daughter was born in February.

Sorry if that's hard to follow it's quite the story and hard to type it all.

All in all it was never a good relationship. And never should have existed. I was 16 he 23 when we started seeing each other.

Eurgh, definitely DON'T have another child with a man u want to separate with purely for selfish reasons, that's worse than having multiple farhers IMO! I had my boys with my ex and my little girl with my now fiance, so only 2 dad's and I will not be having anymore kids anyway!

sorry you had to go through that girl 😕hope you're happier now💕
