Anyone else not send their kid to school in a costume today?

Although it's not entirely the same, our 7 month old was the only one without a Halloween costume at the baby theatre group. He went from average centile at birth to high centile and is going through sooo many clothes, I found it to be wasteful to also buy something he would wear just once or twice.

This week was spirit week, so all week, it's been send them in this send them in that.

It's half term where I am so no school this week. We only send them in something other than school uniform when the school say it's ok though!

My kids didn't. Also kinda warm here today so not sure how we're gonna go trick or treating in their heavy costumes anyway lol

Daycare/preschool, yes I did. And I plan to when she gets into elementary school too unlesss the costume is maybe too distracting or inhibits her being able to sit and walk comfortably or do her work 😂

My kid isn’t school aged yet but I have friends that are school aged and their mom kept them home. We don’t celebrate. No harsh feelings to those that do but it’s not for us. I think the costumes are cute though.

Its spirit week. Supposed to dress up as fave book character. Just so happens to be her costume.

We had spirit week too. Every day this week has a theme. There wasn’t a day to wear Halloween costumes. But, they had a Halloween event last night at school to dress up.

Same. UK here too. I like it that way as people can choose to celebrate Halloween or not. Plus I think it's a bit too much for school especially for primary. Could scare some kids out of going to school that day.

One of my son’s friend doesn't celebrate Halloween so he don't come to school on Halloween
