How do you know when to increase the oz
Hi. When do you know to increase the bottle size. My 7 week old is sleeping roughly 6 hours stretch at night and currently drinking 4oz bottles but drains them each time and goes between 2 to three hours between feeds. Is it ok to move him up to 5oz?? Health visitor said he would be on this amount for a while though

If baby is looking for more after I would increase it my 7 weeks old has just been upped to from 6 oz to 7oz she’s drinks the whole bottle each time , I saw the HV last week and told them she was on 6oz and she’s said that’s absolutely fine, I’ve only just upped it as she started looking for more
Yeah, absolutely! We’ve always been told that if baby is draining the entire bottle then it’s time to give more. Ideally they’re always leaving a little bit in the bottom of the bottle.
If they’re getting too much they’ll throw it up & you can reduce it again :):)
