I'm on maternity leave to return in June and looking to leave my job. Just found a role I'd love to work in put a job out. I'm wondering if it'll be a good idea to apply, considering I still have over 6months left on maternity.

Yeah, go for it. I applied for a role 6 months before I was due to start, they were happy to wait
Takes them about three months to switch you anyway with the nhs, go for it!
