Iām starting to have an issue with my neighbours. They are lovely people but they smoke weed. I havenāt got a problem with them smoking itās the fact they are doing it so much with the garage door open that itās taking over our house and the smell is making feel so sick all the time.
On top of that one of the guys has now got a girlfriend so they are both going out at least 3 times at night and they are chatting and giggling at 12 then at 2 and then at half 3 and itās like a routine and itās waking me up every night and really breaking my sleep (we both live in bungalows and the bedrooms face the driveways so I can hear everything). Itās really effecting me as Iām 39 weeks pregnant and when Iām woken up I canāt get back to sleep.
My partner keeps telling me to go and speak to them. I really donāt feel comfortable with it as they are two men and there is a huge language barrier but I also donāt want to call the police as I feel thatās too far as obviously it will cause them trouble.
I really donāt know what to do?! Am I being dramatic?

Sounds like it would fall under noise nuisance and ASB.
Why is your partner telling you to go and speak to them at 39 weeks pregnant, why can't he speak to them man to man himself? Or you could go together but I don't recommend you tackling it alone.
Feel free to message me as I went through similar, if having a chat doesn't solve it you may need to report them to the council you'll have to keep diary logs and record any evidence to present to them. Are you homeowners, council or private tenants? As that will determine who you can take your complaint to.
Police won't do anything, speaking from experience here they will turn around and tell you that it's a council matter.

I would ask your partner to have a word with them. āGuys would you mind keeping it down when youāre smoking weed at night, weāre about to have a baby and need our sleep right now.ā
If that doesnāt work, then maybe you do need to escalate.

You're not overreacting at all. It's a shame your partner won't go talk to them and is making it your issue š the noise and smell isn't going to be good for baby, even if you yourself could put up with it. Practically - the easiest way to sort it if they're tenants (likely from the sounds of it?) is to contact their landlord and tell them what's happening, if you can find out or you already know who that is?

Not being dramatic at all. I have had similar with my neighbours and I send my husband round when noise is too much to ask if they can quieten down a bit. He wouldnāt let me go round because I canāt keep cool headed š Your partner should really take on that confrontation though.
Usually people have no idea how much noise theyāre making and will not purposely want cause you any annoyance. š¤š½for you they quieten down and you get some better sleep.
