Feel like I'm fighting a losing battle as my little girl refuses to drink water whenever I try to give it to her. We've tried various cups the munchkin one with the straw and the tommee Tippee no valve cups with the two holes in
She just has it in her mouth and just spits it out, it's driving me a bit insane as family and friends keep telling me that she drinks it for them. I don't know what I'm doing wrong?

You don't need to worry about water intake, it's just for practice at this age and it's a very different texture to have in the mouth, as it spreads across their tongue very differently. I would focus on one cup of choice, and keep offering at each solids meal. Don't get too worked up and try to force it, she'll get there. Please don't replace any milk intake with water, only offer it along with solid meals and don't worry if none is taken.

I mostly try it alongside feeding

I do that already, she's on 3 meals a day and it gets offered to her at every meal and she just spits it out

My baby hates water too, the only way she takes it is from a normal plastic cup. We bought her so many styles yet she only drinks it from a normal cup.

My MIL tried it one day and we noticed she was intrigued i guess and drank

My little one was the same. We give him water in a TumTum cup and it's only in the last week he's stopped spitting it out and had started to drink it. (Trying since 6m, he's now 8m). When we use an open cup he likes to blow bubbles and drinks tiny tiny amounts after dribbling it down his chin. The key for us was to just keep offering it, stick to one or two styles of cups and they will naturally pick it up when they are ready I reckon. But that's just experience 😊

Ah tricky maybe if she sees you drinking or warmed it slightly?

I haven’t bothered with sippy cups I just give my baby water in her normal MAM bottles. I fill it with 4oz boiled water in the morning and offer it to her throughout the day she takes anywhere from 0.5oz - 3oz a day. I think the familiarity with the bottle teat helps.

When I was a toddler my mum used to get me little bottles of volvic lemon and lime and I would drink the whole thing I wouldn't drink plain water my son is the same
