Hey ladies, I am moving to Erdington just before Christmas, I am pregnant for the first time with twins due in April. I don't know too much about the area but I'm moving from London so will need to switch hospitals! I'm thinking of referring myself to give birth at the BWH does anyone have any recent reviews or recommendations on any other hospitals? Thanks xx

im from erdington too i gave birth at good hope i wouldnt recommend it if im honest x
thank you! I'll make sure to cross it off my list x

I moved to Erdington from London when I was pregnant because my boyfriend was from Erdington. I hope all goes well. I had a good experience at Good Hope, both pregnancies.

really? i gave birth there twice september 2022 and december 2023. both times my babys needed to go in the nicu. i was kept waiting over an hour for painmeds multiple times and all the nurses was doing was having a good old talk at the nurses station. in december i was in for preterm labour. i started having rlly bad contractions and they didnt believe me. only 1 person out of over 10 people believed i was having contractions. they was showing on the monitor aswell as me screaming in pain but they still didnt believe me. they didnt bother checking if i was dialating bc they didnt think i was having contractions. bc of the amount of pain i was in they sent me to labour ward where i was finally checked and my waters was buldging i was 3cm. i gave birth 2 hours after they checked me, at 32+3. if they had believed me 13 hours prior, they couldve stopped my contractions and i wouldnt have given birth so early x
@Nancy that sounds really traumatic! I'm sorry they didn't listen to you. Will not have good hope on my list!

thats just my experience i dont wana scare yu😅 but ik lots of people have had good experiences there so id just do some research on the hospitals on yur list and see what one more suits yu! yu can also talk w yur midwife about this x

so sorry to hear this. Yes that would certainly put me off going there. I was full term with both and they did tell me to stay at home and take paracetamol with my first, when I called them. They said it’s too soon for my first. It’s a good job I didn’t listen and went in because I was 9cm when I got there 😩. My second I went in right away and gave birth within minutes so I’m probably just lucky I didn’t have complications as sounds like they not good with complications 😣

they didnt even do my obs after birth i was in for 5 days afterwards and not once did they do my obs. im defo put off going there now. think id rather go to heartlands or womens hospital tbh. they shouldnt have said it was too soon, bc alltho yea it couldve been too early, yu could still give birth, which yu did. any contraction pains at all yu need to get checked so for them to say that is unbelievable. see antenatal downstairs i dont have a problem with, i found in MAU some of the nurses was kinda judgemental and rude, most of them was nice but it was just the odd couple of nurses. my main problem was the antenatal/postnatal ward. i dont think id be going back there. they definately arent trained much for complications x
