Has anyone had an issue with the teats of Mam bottle blocking? I am using carobel but very little and I’ve noticed at the last 2 feeds when I stop to wind the teat is blocked when I go to give it back to my LB. He’s been reduced feeding, fighting and fussing with feeds for the past 2 weeks and I’m wondering is the reason. I actually made the last bottle up in a TT bottle but my little boy couldn’t take so poured into the Mam so can’t be how feed is being made and it worked at the start of feed so not how the bottle is put together. Considering changing bottles again tomorrow unless someone knows any ways to fix.

What sterilising method do you use? I cold sterilise with Milton and never had an issue

I have this issue with tommee tippee and I even tried sizing up the teat

I had the same issue yesterday, was strange. I made my LG bite it sideways (if that makes sense?) and just manipulated it to let air out. Eventually it opened up to normal and I could feed her normally. Never happened before, not sure why it happened now but people do say you should get new teats every 3 months 🤷🏽♀️ So may be that x

I’m self sterilising in the microwave but have tested all the clean teats and they are all ok so must happen during feed.
I’ve only had them 4 weeks as we were breast/tomee tippee before . I actually put the blocked teat in my mouth and to see if I could unblock (just to see, not to give back to my LB) I’m at a completely loss. My little boy is tiny as he was premature and very sick at birth and don’t want the bottles to be impacting on his feeding :(
Thank for the suggestions :)

Carobel can carry on thickening. I used to use it with my little one and found if she took a bit of a pause in feeds it would block the hole. Sometimes it's literally just a tiny granule that's stuck and needs manipulating out x

I dont have any personal experience with this but saw something that said Mam does size X teats apparently they are for thicker fluids to let more through so could give it a try

I have had this problem, I thought it was because I was putting gaviscon in the bottle though. For sterilisation o use the Milton cold tablets. Sorry I can’t be of much help. But I have had this issue as well if anyone knows what it is

Did u up a teat flow size?

I tried that still gets blocked

I’m on size 2 teat with 1 scoop of carobel to 4oz, baffled as did it at the start of last feed.

I’ve used size 2 twats still blocking

I asked the pharmacy they said take a needle and make the whole bigger
