Hi all - I’m 8 days PP after an emergency C Section- which included a longer cm scar because his head was looking at the sky and uterus removal and put back in. Needless to say the pain has been breathtakingly bad.
I’ve been battling on though as I’m desperate that my breastfeeding journey goes well considering I didn’t get the natural birth I wanted.
The nighttimes are the worst as I try to take my boy from
My breast in a reclined position to twist / bend round to put baby in travel cot. He sleeps in this travel cot which is next to me on the bed.
He doesn’t settle as well as he could because I really struggle to lie him down as gently and quietly as possible and I have to move slowly. Sometimes is good and sometimes not.
Not in position yet to co sleep safely until I know I can mobilise faster. I’m a single mama so don’t have much support.
Any ideas??

I'm sorry you're going through this. I had an emergency c section too (my second emergency section, my baby is 3 weeks old and i have a 2.5 year old) I really struggled the first few weeks and I can't really offer any advice apart from make sure to keep up with pain relief. I'm also breastfeeding and it's very demanding. Please be kind to yourself as the whole thing is alot. You're doing amazing. Things will get better, day by day. 🫶

I got a co sleeper witch keeps them safe, but closer to you, now I have her bed in our room an she is almost 2

what’s a co sleeper witch?

@Alexa the amazon link, https://a.co/d/ca7O4Gk

I slept in a chair for my first two weeks (this one specifically reclined and rose me to a somewhat standing position with a push of a button). I would literally push the chair all the way up, stand, and then put him in the basinet. I understand not everyone has access to these chairs. But could you sleep in any reclining chair (rocker or glider from nursery)? Might be easier to get up/down for baby as often as one needs with a newborn. I found I didn’t sleep in my bed until the third week PP. That’s when I found I could get in and out easier, with less strain on my incision.

that’s a good idea- what chair did you use?

do you think that bassinet is similar size to what I have I’ll send u a pic

Thanks that means a lot, it really is a struggle but trying to keep positive xxx

Hey I had a similar experience with a traumatic c section and long recovery, it is really tough. But congratulations for breastfeeding 8 days already! I can assure you that each week will get easier as the wound heals. I remember feeling the same around putting baby down not as gently as I wanted. It would feel like a chore to put her down after she finally fell asleep! But it does get easier and you will find a rhythm that works for yous. One day at a time, be kind to yourself, you just made a whole little human! ❤️

It's about the same probably a little smaller, But yeah, that's what I did.I put the little co-sleeper on the bed when I slept so that I could have easy access and baby was still safe
