Constipated bf baby

My 3 week old hasn’t been for a poo in 12 days she’s exclusively breastfed she’s been on lactulose for 5 days and still nothing! She’s okay in herself feeding well and lots of wet nappies. We’ve been to the gp and the children’s hospital (sent by gp) but no one seems to be overly concerned but I’m freaking out. Any similar experiences ?

My daughter when she was around the same age went a long time without pooping as well. She is EBF. I bought glycerin syringes, put one in her bum (doesn’t need to go all the way in) and it took less than 5 minutes and she did a massive poop

our lb was the same when he was younger, our midwife said it's normal for them not to poo for 2 weeks, i was very shocked at this information. My new little baby has been constipated and we've been doing exercises with his legs like he's riding a bike and putting his toes to his nose this was advised by the midwife and it's helped a lot we also give tummy massages x

If she isn’t uncomfortable then let her be. EBF babies are known to go up to a couple weeks. If she’s eating well, having good number of wet diapers, and isn’t uncomfortable then just leave her. 💖

Glycerin suppositories work wonders! They have some on Amazon! My baby has a severe cows milk allergy and went through 6 different formulas!

She’s exclusively breastfed and been on lactulose since last Saturday but still nothing it’s all very stressful but these comments are reassuring

My newest baby just went 7 days without poo. I replaced one breastmilk bottle with a formula bottle and he pooped finally. Had to do the same when I had my second kid too.

My EBF baby went up to 24 days without pooing. Suppositories worked for him, the laxatives didn’t work. We saw GP/ A&E and paediatricians and they all seemed fine as long as his tummy was nice and soft.
I wasn’t fine with it though (stressed like you) and from trial and error I figured out he had an egg allergy and was reacting through my milk. I stopped eating egg and he started pooing every day

Both my kids are exclusively bf and they both went a week or 2 without a bowel but when they do go they go. My 3 month old just saw her doctor today and he had no concerns with her bowel schedule

Is she acting uncomfortable? Ebf get very efficient at processing the breast milk.

If she's acting uncomfortable, you can do what we called "squatty potty poses" where we held our little one up to our chests with his knees up and apart to his chest and we'd rock a lot. Ours was combo fed so he'd poop like every 3 days at this age, but he had lots of gas problems and a hard time with his poops and this really helped.

not really a little bit every now and again but I don’t know how much of it is to do with the lactulose as it can cause stomach cramps and gas etc x

I bet that wasn’t easy to figure out, maybe I should start a food diary x

Do leg exercises with her and the bowel movements will just start releasing….

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7
