Wtf mil losing her shit

My mil is actually grandmother in law. She’s losing her mind literally. She’s been picking fights nonstop here lately.

She caused a fight between my husband and I today. Nothing major, he went to cool off and agreed to talk when he came back.

She called demanding to know where he went and by my 5th idk she started again how her ex husband used to get mad and run off to another woman and one time run off and lived with another woman for a year and this is the same thing she’s been going on to both of us and I asked her to stop multiple times and finally I said I’m done and hung up. Boy did that piss her off. I put my phone on silent and didn’t check it again for about an hour.

She’s 90 and has health issues so when she called again I answered expecting her to be crying if anything (she loves pushing buttons but turns on the water works immediately for anything.)

Nope, called me this, called me that. I let it roll off me, a bit shocked if anything, until she started in on our kids. Nope. Full stop. I’m not cool with that, instant mad. I said you’re not going to bad mouth my kids I’m through with this, hung up, and went to get my daughter from her house.

She had her waiting by the door and I said come on let’s go, went to shut the door, gil came at me. Stepped up in my face telling me what a whore and terrible mom I was, I told my daughter to go to the car and once she was in, I stepped up and told her I was done with this behavior, I was sick of it, and she’s driving everyone crazy.

She jumped, scurried off saying “I’ll show you” over and over and went to her (empty) gun cabinet. I left and as I was pulling out of the driveway she was screaming how “I’ll remember this I’ll remember what you said.” So I stopped and said remember what?! Remember that I said I’m done with you? You’re acting like I came here cussing and screaming at you when you’re the one calling names and trying to pull a gun! She said something along the lines of no one cares for her and never thanks her. I said I guess you did forget, I’m the one who calls and comes by, asks if you need anything, gets your groceries and your medicine, but I guess not. She yelled get out of her house quite a few times and I said I won’t be back.

Wtf. Wtaf.

My husband isn’t back yet but I truly am done. I already texted her daughter and home health nurse that I’m going very limited contact as in only if no one else can get to her due to her age and health. My husbands going to be mad and if he wants a relationship with her that’s fine but she’s not going to be around our kids or me or in our house.
