Baby hasn't had a poop in a day

Hi moms :) My baby arrived home at 36 weeks after 8 in the NICU. He only drinks breast milk. I noticed he didn't have a poop nappy yesterday and not yet for the day. I'd hate for him to be constipated in any way. Should I be concernes? Any tips or massages I can do to help his colon?

Pediatrician offices are notoriously super kind about moms calling in for health related questions. Definitely give them a ring when they open. Until then, I'll offer anecdotal advice. Your baby will be fine throughout the night, and you're a good Mom for being concerned! As long as your child doesnt appear uncomfortable grimacing hassy fussy unsoothable should be fine. Sometimes, when they're growing, they hold onto that precious breastmilk source, three breastfed big healthy kids, and previously 6 years of nursing in family medicine clinic (Pediatrics)

My doctor told me baby is fine as long as he poos once in SEVEN days which I know sounds crazy. You can ring them and if you're super concerned about it you can give him a bit of prune juice as a natural laxative. But don't worry Mama, he'll poop 💩

@Susie yes and mine said some babies can go 5 days 😭😭and my baby did that, but he been pooping more now but if concerned call the office or pediatrician. My baby came at 26 weeks

My 30 weeker used to go every 5 days when in NICU and he was on lactulose twice daily. He was on EBM. Doctors said that was fine, apparently they can go up to 10 days if on breastmilk. Try to give a warm bath and do bicycle exercises to help the movement.
