My partner is depressed, he's had a horrible life since being a baby. He's never seeked help and iv finally convinced him to reach out to someone.
He's thinking of going to project 6 (support group) they mainly deal with addiction though. I'm looking for advice on who would be best for him to go too or if anyone knows how he could get a therapist.
We've tried arranging him a Dr appointment a couple times but the Dr's mess him about and don't get back to him.
Thankyou in advance

Does insurance need a referral for therapy? If not then start calling around to the therapists that take your insurance. Not all therapists are going to be a good fit for you so he needs to talk to several and see how he feels and choose one. Also know that it's going to be really rough the first several sessions as you dig through all the trauma. There's also different types of therapy so depending on any mental illnesses he may want to research what type is good for what he needs help with.
