C-Section

I've had 2 failed Stretch and sweeps.

What are the changes next week of having a c-section.

I am supposed to be induced on Monday.

Are you saying you’d rather have a c-section rather than be induced? If so they do sometimes allow that but usually it’s booked at least 2 weeks in advance if it’s an elective section as the list will already be done! You can always ask though.

Is there a reason you would rather have a section than be induced? Sorry just curious xx

@Maddie I'm not really sure what I want to be honest.

It's my first baby, and I'm terrified of both outcomes
1) I've heard that an induction causes more pain during labour
2) section is worse afterwards.

I would prefer him to come naturally but I don't know what else I can try

I've done
- walks
- cleaning
- spicy food
- baths
- squats

And nothing seems to be shifting him🤣

I've been having contractions now for 3 weeks and I'm 3cm dilated but that's not enough to remain in hospital

It’s my first baby too and i have felt the same but im being induced on Monday 16th and just going to go with it to be honest and my midwife said you can always opt for an early epidural with the pain I’m terrified too but feel the same as you I don’t know what else to try 🙈😂 xx

It’s hard to know what the right thing to do is feel the same as you

I had failed sweeps with my first all the way up to the last one at 40weeks+1, I was induced the following day and I wasn’t even dilated and I had an amazing experience and labour. The fact you’re already 3cm dilated will give you such a great head start on your induction, you’ve got this 🥰

But it's been a week and he's still 3cm... why won't he move 🤣

Does thay mean that it will be a quicker birth🤣 @Lauren

I've had a c section and been induced. My c section was awful recovery wise. I also laboured until 7cm until he was in distress and oh my God even having the epidural and gas&air it was incredibly painful.
My second i was induced, had 2 failed sweeps. Tried EVERYTHING to get him out..nope. Went in on the Wednesday evening, he was born Friday morning. The pain was nothing compared to my first, the only pain I had was a deep pressure pain when it came closer to getting him out. Even after an infusion and infection the recovery has been so much better. It is hard to know what to do, definitely weigh up your pros and cons but as your induction is next week depending how far along you are they may not allow a section due to the list already being drafted. Either way I hope you get the birth you want 💙

What are the reasons for induction? Is refusal / delay and extra monitoring not an option? X

Raspberry leaf tea was the thing that tipped me into labour. I ended up having an emergency section. If I had chance I'd be happier with an induction x

Having same doubts as you I am booked for an induction on the 21st, my consultant said I can still change my mind at any point during the induction and switch to c section I could not have an elective one booked tho… You are already 3cm and you can ask for the epidural at 4cm if it’s too much pain, I hope it goes well either way and you have a positive birth✨

If you don't want induction, you can have a scan and other monitoring instead, in order to push the induction later. It's all your choice. x

These were my thoughts too. x
