My last pregnancy, I lost my mucus plug after a normal cervix check 2 days before my due date, baby came two days after due date.

How did you decide to wait until 41 weeks for membrane sweep? I hit 40 weeks yesterday and have an appointment Tuesday morning. I think this will be discussed-
Just wondering your thoughts on this! Im pretty uncomfortable and not sure I’ll hang in there for another week!

I was 50/50 on it going into my last appt (40+5), but talked about it with my midwife & it felt like the right decision. My cervix is really soft (according to her), so it was easy for her to do- I didn’t have any residual cramping, spotting, nor discomfort that a lot of people talk about. It just felt like a lot of pressure. My next appt is Thursday (if I’m still pregnant), and they’ll do an ultrasound to check amniotic fluid & do another sweep then. If you’re uncomfortable, then I think it’s worth discussing the risks & benefits for you, specifically. I’ve still been active despite baby dropping, but am ready for things to move along😅 and the benefits outweighed the risks for me in this case.

thank you that is helpful!! Hoping your little one comes soon!!

With my last pregnancy, I lost my mucous plug at 38 weeks after a sweep and didn’t go into labor until 40+1
