Going Home Outfits in Winter

We brought home our first in a snowstorm 😂 I would honestly just put them in something that covers arms and legs and then get a nice warm blanket to cover them in once they are in the car seat! They should let someone pull the car around and then come help you down so baby should only be out in the cold for max of a minute or so. But also, what you have sounds good too! It just might be too warm once you get inside your house

I just do a long sleeve onesie with long pants and I have a winter car seat cover. This is my second January baby.

I have a cute onesie that looks like a button up shirt with some thickish pants and a jacket ready for him. I'm also packing an alternative outfit in case it is colder than I thought

Just remember - babies can overheat. They can’t regulate temperature in the beginning. Also not too bulky like you said for the carseat. I live in CT , so I’m expecting it to be super cold. You can cover the baby with a blanket. Also those warm car seat covers. And you can send hubby out to warm the car prior to you guys bringing the baby down too!

Honestly I just thought of doing a onesie then a sleep suit over it and then a blanket over once buckled into the car seat. We’re in WA

I live in Florida so it doesn’t get too cold here. I did pick a knit outfit with hat and booties.

What is an outer onesie? If it’s thick, I’d skip it. Thick clothing are a no-go for car seats too. I’d do a blanket for the walk from the hospital to the car.

I’ll have my baby in a one piece sleep and play and a snow suit to keep them warm on the ride home
