Has anyone had raspberry leaf tea in their later stage of pregnancy when having a vbac? The tea isn’t advised to take if you’re having a planned section but didn’t know if it’s safe to have if you’ve previously had one but aren’t opting for one this time round?

My midwife told me not to drink it and I’m planning on a vbac. She said it could affect scar rupture x

I would take advise from your midwife. I took it religiously from 32 weeks and read online around 38 weeks that they don’t often recommend it 🥲🤦🏿♀️! I didn’t see how I could get my VBAC without though so I carried on and had a VBAC with a quick active labour

Midwife’s and doctors always say non of that stuff works and don’t do it. But we know it does. You’re going to have a regular labor and a regular delivery so yea you can drink it. It’s not Pitocin lol. Anyways, I had a VBA2C. You’re gonna do great!!

I drank it and had my VBAC X

I am 38 weeks and guzzling it planning a vbac, my midwife advised to approach with caution when starting it off around 32 weeks and to stop if it caused any contractions or cramping but it hasn’t

I drunk it and I had a VBAC x

wanted to update, I drank with caution as above and gradually increased to the end and I had my vbac Monday xx good luck

my first I dilated to 10 but he came by c section as was back to back, so yes had a labour and was rated as having a ‘good chance’ of getting vbac this time as you know your cervix can open (second baby ended up back to back/transverse too but I did get my vbac still) xx

you’d have almost the same chance of getting your vaginal birth as someone who’s never had a baby 😊

I never had any labor at all because my two sons were both born scheduled c section and I had a successful vaginal delivery with my 3rd son.

Just an update to this post nearly 7 weeks PP… I got my VBAC🥳 it was via episiotomy and forceps due to being left so long after my waters had gone myself and my daughter ended up getting an infection.
Although my waters broke themselves after 24 hours I was only 1cm (which I had been for 2 weeks after 4 stretch and sweeps) so I ended up on the drip. Was in active labour for 6 and half hours☺️

thank you! I did labour with my first. Had an induction (2 pessarys, 2 lots of prostin and then they broke my waters and put me on the drip) I only managed to get to 5cm on with my son. This time round I drank raspberry leaf tea religiously from 32 weeks, ate 6 dates a day from 36 weeks, did some perineal massage and collected colostrum all which I never did with my first. My waters broke at exactly 39 weeks but labour never progressed itself so I was put on the drip again. I would say definitely drink the tea and eat the dates😂 good luck!
