Mine’s been head down since about 34 weeks with braxton hicks and only started showing signs of ‘proper’ labour (more consistent tightenings, mucus plug coming away slowly) this week after a sweep (39) - some people can feel them super early, very much your body preparing!
Mine daughter was the same exact way. I never got a Sweep. My daughter just decided she was ready at 37 weeks
braxton hicks aren’t an indication you’ll be going into labor anytime time soon, especially at 31 weeks. when i lost my mucus plug it looked like a giant booger, and then a few hours later i had the bloody show which looked like a giant bloody booger (tmi sorry). then the rest of it came out about 18 hours later during labor
Mucus plug is basically just like a clear jelly but is not a sign of labour as it can regenerate. I lost mine around 32 weeks. Went into labour at 36+4 after I broke my waters (own fault for spending 3 hours with an electric hedge trimmer) A bloody show is the jelly but streaked with blood and this can be a sign of labour starting. Braxton hicks unfortunately also aren’t a sign and can happen for weeks.
Mine came all in one go and it looked like jelly with some blood in it. Google pictures I think it can look different. I had braxton hicks for a month if not longer before I went into labour. If you're worried call for advice and what to look for when labour has started
I’m 29 weeks but baby has been head down since 24 weeks. Every few days I get Braxton hicks and it’s usually just a position change or hydrating that I need to do so that doesn’t always mean baby is coming, it’s just your bodies way of prepping for when the time actually does come. Not sure about the mucus plug though, from my understanding you can lose it multiple times throughout pregnancy and it regenerates.
I lost mine about 60 hours into contractions starting and it was a huge blob of jelly basically. I remenebr it being quite bloody, more than just a tinge. I remember the midwife arrived at my house just as it happened and I went out with it on a tissue to double check 😂 I’d had a few wipes before that where it could’ve been bits of the mucus plug. But nothing substantial until it all came out!
I’m 40 weeks pregnant and been having braxton hicks with head down since about 32 weeks, it’s a sign your body is preparing but definitely not a sign that labour is coming anytime soon so try not to worry.
Sometimes it can be white or a little brown. Me personally I lost mine when I was in beginning of labor and before that I didn't lose any at all. You will definitely know when you lost it. It literally looks like a huge Thing of snot
