My supply has reduced to just drops somehow. My LO is 5 months. I BF and pump. I have been doing all the tricks. I pump after BF, eat oatmeal, drink body Armour, take Legendairy supplements, pump every 3 hours. And one day I woke up and my supply was literally just drops from one side and nothing from the other. Since this has happened I have added power pumping 1 x day to the mix. Now I get a few more drops, but not as much as I used to (not like i got that much to start out with. Like 1 oz from both combined.). Is my body just telling me I am done? Is this the end of BF for me?

I have questions that can help pinpoint..
How long have you been
taking the supplements?
What's your BF routine like and how long are feeds? Do you wake to feed/pump through the night?
Whats your eating/drinking frequency + routine? Variety of foods or no?
What type of pump are you using and have you had your nipple size checked and overall been able to verify its working well?
This to start
1) about 4 months.
2) Feed length vary- minimally 15 mins on each side, but she gets distracted so usually longer.
3) no, she has been sleeping through the night for about a month.
4) drink like it's my job. What do you want to know about eating? I eat oatmeal in the AM. Eat regular meals through the day making sure I get enough protein and veggies.
5) Ameda pump and yes, lactation consultant said i have the right fit.

It depends, when your LO nurses do they seem satisfied after their feed? Plenty of wet and dirty nappies? Gaining weight well? You might need to replace your pump parts or find a different pump - some people don’t respond well to certain pumps. Also remember, pumping is not a true reflection of your supply! My son can drink 180ml from a bottle, which I can NOT pump every 2/3 hours, it’d take me probably 2, maybe 3 pumping sessions to get that much. But he’s EBF 99% of the time and gains weight well which tells me he’s getting enough milk directly from the breast.
she does not seem satisfied at all. When I went to my lactation consultant numerous times and did weighted feedings, she is definitely not getting enough. We have had to combifeed since the first month as she dropped way too much weight
i forgot to tag you in my first comment lol

There are hormonal changes that happens between 4-5months. Your period might be coming. I would take away the supplements. Too much of them can actually cause problems. You have to know why you take each. Supplements should be taken WHEN you’re having issues and not so many at a time.
Power pumping should be done 3-4 times for at least 4 days to see improvements. Sometimes you might have to change your pump cause your breasts changes as you continue to BF. Are you using an electric pump or hands free?
This also happens when you have mastitis and sometimes the drop of supply is the first indicator. So be on the lookout

I agree with Wis about the supplements. In my opinion, the results from taking them is too iffy.
The middle of the night feeding is pretty big for the first few months and can be connected to your cycle. I'd consider seeing if waking for a feed at least for a week makes a difference.
Yes i wanted to see if youre eating balanced and variety. Like how you said you eat enough proteins and veggies. So i would look at caloric intake because if youre moderately active, you need a LOT, so that might mean eating more (like i need to)
I know you said you pump after bf and pump every 3hrs but, does she feed every 1, 2, 3 hours?
Power pumping doesnt always work (or at least alone) have you tried latching her for the sake of creating a cluster feeding routine again?

**Im sorry if my questions are overwhelming; I almost lost mine on one side and this was just my process coupled with research to get it back

I agree with all of the above.
Also, frequency is key to get it back up.
I don't know how it works at 5 months but early on if you go 5 hours without BF you're telling your body milk isn't needed.
It's especially important overnight. Prolactin levels are highest 1-5 am
Do that often enough you'll produce less.
