Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how you prove earnings eligibility for the free childcare hours please? And detail on how you reconfirm this every 3months?
My LO isn't eligible until September but I am planning ahead. More specifically, my pre-maternity salary would mean I am not eligible (over 100k) but I will be going back part-time and my new salary would mean I am under 100k. I'm therefore looking to understand how I would prove eligibility- is it based on salary and showing how much you have earned in the prior 3 months?!
Any help would be much appreciated!

It’s based on your earnings through your NI number and they calculate it from the last 3 months prior to the date you apply that’s why they reconfirm every 3 months x
Thanks Meg! So in this case, for the upper threshold, they'd be looking for under 25k in a 3month period? What about bonuses etc?

You set up a government account to pay your nursery through. Then you apply for the free hours through that. It’s based on both yours and Dads (if living together) NI numbers that’s how they will calculate it: I imagine if bonuses tipped you over the £100K it would stop. Both mine and my husbands are close to £100k and they have called us twice and asked what they think our total PAYE will be by March but that’s it,
Brilliant, thanks Naomi!
