Would you take your baby to the nail salon with you?

When my youngest was a baby, I took him with me to get a pedi. He pretty much just slept and while maybe a few people looked at me funny, everyone was very nice and accommodating. I would say, give it a go!

No, I wouldn’t personally. Fumes aren’t great for anyone. But also, I don’t feel it’s fair on the other clientele in the salon.

I only go to 18+ salons because, for me, the salon is for self care and I don’t want to be surrounded by children in my chosen time to relax and chat with my techs 🤷🏻‍♀️

Each to their own and I’m not judging anyone that wouldn’t mind or chooses to do this, it’s just a different perspective (and a common one in my area as the 18+ salons get booked very quickly)

to me it depends on how young your baby is, the fumes there are quite strong even for adults, so i wouldn’t want to take my baby there (but he is only 9 weeks)

Yea I did just last week. Put him in the carrier and he was asleep the whole time

I'd say depends on the baby age and how ventilated is the and how packed if it's when they first open not many ppl getting things done/ fumes to smell.

baby is 14 weeks and i honestly have actually never noticed any smells the place i go to. Usually it’s not crowded at all. :) baby would def not be awake, if he’s being held he just sleeps lol

So I'll do it. Just Make sure it isn't crowded less of everything going on. Anyways

yeah I def wouldn’t bring him to a 18+ salon (I’ve actually never heard of this but there’s a salon nearby that has a bar in it so assuming maybe this is similar or what you mean) but the place I go to is just a mom and pop type place and rarely crowded. They love kids (they always ask about mine) and now that I’m thinking this through they actually have toddler/little kid pedicure stations/chairs there so assuming they are def kid friendly. Baby is 14 weeks and wouldn’t cry, he like never cries so he wouldn’t bother anyone. He would be sleeping the whole time.

Personally no, the fumes are so strong in every nail salon I’ve been to x

When my daughter was like 2 months I took her with me as I got a pedicure. I held her the whole time and it was fine.

@Brooke some salons do smell strongly of chemical or whatever products they are using, its not negative to say it. I haven't seen any negative comments, just people giving opinions as the poster asked for it

Incognito, some salons I wouldn't, but the way you described yours seems OK. I also have one that doesn't smell and have private rooms, just a bit small to bring a pram, though.

My 3mo with me yesterday when I went to get a pedi! He was amazing!! He doesn’t really cry unless he’s hungry or hot… he was just hanging and smiling at everyone who interacted!! I’m on mat leave until Feb, so, while my hubby works I find things to do and he comes along for all of it

No. My salon is just an adults only place. It doesn’t have a bar or offer alcohol in any manner. They just appreciate a child free space for their clients 🤷🏻‍♀️

I wasn’t implying that you would take your child to an 18+ space, just explaining my perspective on it and the reasons why I go to an adult only salon

I took my girl when she was about the same age as I had no childcare and was in a wedding party.

I just booked the first appointment of the day. No fumes as I’m the first person in and the place was cleaned and ventilated over night

I took my son at 18 months old. Where I go it’s by appointment only so it’s not busy and it’s properly ventilated so no strong fumes

I do my best not to take him cuz that’s my only me time I get once a month 🫶🏻

I've taken my now 3 year old a few times. Most recently, the other day. He tried to touch their stuff, and I redirected him, but they were great about it. He then fell asleep.

It deoends. Some of those places just reek of chemicals and aren’t properly ventilated

The fumes are extremely toxic so no, only for that reason

I took my baby to the nail salon with me before, but it’s a natural nail salon. They don’t do acrylic or anything with chemicals. So I felt comfortable taking him. I can’t sit in a regular nail salon for more than 5 min. The smell makes me feel like I can’t breath.
