I’m assuming this is through fundal height measurements, if this is the case this is a really inaccurate way of tracking measurements as everyone carries differently along with each midwife taking these measurements differently. In saying that, it is a large jump and as far as I was aware they would send you for a growth scan based on this jump. I would possibly speak to them and query this again x
Im actually in hospital right now and just been speaking to a load of professionals about this as my baby is big but they’ve sort of changed their mind on needing an induction etc 🤦🏼♀️😂 Apparently the guidelines have recently changed, so that they now don’t really worry if baby is getting bigger(as long as on some sort of percentile not tracking high above them), it is only if baby is going below the percentile that they were tracking at ❤️ Even at the 90th percentile baby is tracking to be born around 8.5lbs which is completely fine ❤️
Percentile means that if your baby is 90th then 90% of babies of the same gestation weigh less than your baby and approx 10% will weigh more so it’s telling you the commonality of your baby’s weight at that particular gestation. Same as if your baby is measuring on the 3rd percentile it means that 3% of babies will weigh less than yours and 97% will weigh more. It’s neither good nor bad it’s just plotting them on a scale of comparison. It is quite a large growth spurt but if the midwife seems happy with it I wouldn’t worry but at the same time if you don’t feel at ease then push for more info!
