Hi! 2.5 years ago we had an NHS funded round of IVF which resulted in three embryos. One was used successfully and the other two frozen. We are thinking of using the others and have been re-referred by our GP. Due to the postcode lottery we would not get any more funding (totally grateful for what we did get! And the care we recieved), we would be funding the transfer ourself (but through the NHS as that is where our embryos are). Does anyone have experience of this and know what to expect? We are based in Sheffield and use Jessops hospital.
Thanks in advance for any info! X

Learn more about our guidelines.Hi Melanie. We went through the same. We were funded for our NHS IVF and had our rainbow baby on our second FET. We had 2 frozen embryos remaining which we transferred to a private clinic near us. We are transferring again (praying all goes well) next month. Good luck! š¤
We went through the same. We had nhs funding for our first succesful fresh transfer but now we have a baby we donāt qualify for funding again. We had 3 embryos frozen. We stayed with the same clinic and paid for a FET in September which unfortunately ended in a chemical pregnancy and weāve just paid for another FET (going through it now) š¤š»
Our clinic is a private clinic which accepts nhs patients which is why we remained with the same clinic x
@Amy @Mari good luck both of you! And thank you for your responses xxx
@Mari is it better to transfer the embryos to a private clinic? Iāve never considered doing that ā¦
@Famz for us, the clinic we wanted was about 4 minutes from our house and had great reviews so that was our personal choice. We had issues at the nhs hospital with their licensing so we had to send our embabies elsewhere regardless!
