@Katie I’m breast feeding shall I be feeding longer with him? I do 20 mins half hour or so
Every half hour is normal during cluster feeding. It lasts 6-8 weeks and then comes back time to time but for shorter periods. Just ride it out and consider safe sleep seven
@Corinne feed when baby wants it. Do you offer both breasts? Xxxxx
@Katie no I do one breast each feed but my mate did just say I should feed on one and go straight to the other see if it makes him fuller for the night but he sleeps on me it’s like he using my boob as comfort
Yeah I always offer it. My LG falls asleep on me too, I found changing nappy inbetween changing boobs works. She sometimes uses me for comfort too, I let her come off herself as that's when she tells me she is done/full. If she doesn't ill unlatch her and rock her to sleep, wait 20 mins so she is in a deep sleep and then transfer her to a heated moses basket or next to me (hot water bottle in before hand). She then will sleep from midnight until 5 in the morning. My LG will cluster feed from 6pm until about midnight and then when she gets up in a morning. She then 9/10 times goes down again at half 6 until 8 and it gives me chance to get showered etc xxxx
Yeah I changed mid feed which helps
Feed for as long as he wants. The normal waking for newborn is every 3-4 hours. Cluster feed is when baby feeds for 1-2 hours straight without a break then sleep for 4 hours. Don’t limit the feeds because newborn tummy is tiny, how’s h do you think the milk will last before getting completely digested? It’s normal for them to want to feed for a long time and a lot. Because they are TINY. Unfortunately that is what it is for us mums. The most sleep I got when my babies were newborn was def 3-4 hours before they wake up for another feed and a nappy change.
@Nattinan wow 3-4 hours sleep is the most I get with my 11 month old 😂 😭
@Lisa I have 2 under 2 so even though my 3-years-old daughter can sleep through the night now, I still have to deal with my son wakings so the broken night sleep continues 😆
I used to feed 2 hours after each feed finished at night, and 1.5 hours after each feed finished in the day. First couple of weeks are hard… but it’s just a phase x
Sounds like cluster feeding to up your supply! Xxxxx
