Egg allergy and diet

My baby had eggs for the first time at 6 months and had a very severe reaction (ended up in hospital being treated with steroids). I suspected he had allergies for a while as he has quite severe itchy eczema but I didn't know what he was reacting to as he is breastfed. I am assuming I would need to cut eggs out of my diet too now but would that also include eggs in baked goods?

He has siblings that eat products with eggs in the house- would they need to avoid eating around him?

Hey, yes it would, you’d need to avoid all eggs including eggs in baked goods etc. not only can it cause eczema, it can cause discomfort or pain too. I wouldn’t say your kids need to steer clear, but just be cautious they don’t kiss the baby after eating them or touch the baby with eggs on their hands
