Is it possible to have a sweep done?

Having a closed cervix doesn’t tell you anything. It could be 1 day it could be a week it could be hours. Try to relax at home. I went on a Sunday (40weeks) morning to an appointment still no signs of labor coming, baby was born Wednesday.

My induction was great to be honest

Not necessarily. I was still closed and not dilated at 40weeks on the dot and went into labor 2 days later . And got fully dilated within 2 hrs

Labor can happen at any time and you don’t need to be dilated prior.

You also don’t have to be induced either. It’s your choice. As long as you are educated about it.

Just in case you are induced, mine went perfect! Just relax and enjoy these final days of pregnancy 🫶🏼

I was closed at 40 weeks, got induced at 41+4 and was still closed prior to induction.

If you are to be induced, I strongly recommend doing your research just so you know what to expect!

You’ve done 40 weeks, what’s one more?? I went into labor at 40+6….you’ve got this! Hope you have a safe and satisfying birth ❤️

Had a sweep at 5 days overdue, was told cervix closed so sweep couldn’t be completed, the next day I went for a long walk (including curb walking) at 2am my contractions started! I am adamant that ‘failed’ sweep must have done something, so it might not be long now x

I got induced at 41 weeks, i was originally going to do 40 (didn't for hurricane related reasons) but im glad I didn't because I was the same! She was nowhere near ready to come out, even at 41 weeks it took a few days to go into active labor

They might be able to do a sweep in a few days. When is your next check up?

I never knew whether my cervix was closed or open I never get them checked before labour. Don’t let a “closed cervix” scare you from having a vaginal birth because the cervix will dilate when your body is ready. I’ve had 3 spontaneous vaginals and never knew how dilated I was before labour.

I went into labor at 41 weeks with my second the day before induction spontaneously. Baby is ready when baby is ready! I always joke that he came out like a bank robber with the police circling 🤣😂 he was on his own clock!

I had a scan the day before my waters broke and went into labour, and I wasn't dilated then at all. It can literally change overnight. If you can, go swimming because it was the best relief on my body when I was heavily pregnant x

Cervical checks barely mean anything unless in active labor and there is a concern and for ex you discover a breech baby or a prolapsed cord......

Women can dilate fully in an hour or two or over weeks. All is normal.
