Does anyone know if nurseries take babies with conjunctivitis? Particularly busy bees nursery chain? Myself and my husband have developed it from a cold lo brought back from nursery .

I don’t work at busy bees but in the nursery I work at there’s no exclusion period

My little one goes to busy bees, and she wasn’t allowed in until she started treatment for it and no longer contagious
@Jordan how long was that ? Surely kids will be off for a whole week if we're waiting for being non contagious

Different nursery but when our little boy had suspected we were told he wouldn't be allowed back until symptoms had cleared as whilst they have teary/matted eyes, they are contagious so it can go on for ages! I've had it myself a few times.
@Kirsty what a nightmare, how does anyone keep a job with kids, I'm fairly sure it's from nursery I the first place 😑

It took around 4-5 days I think, so she missed almost the whole week of nursery. The amount of germs she comes back with it crazy

Honestly the first year of nursery I was just really glad my workplace were so flexible and understanding. It probably is which is even more frustrating.

I would always give them a ring and ask them if you're not too sure

My lo’s nursery doesn’t have an exclusion policy for conjunctivitis so they are allowed in with it. Definitely check with your nursery.

I work at a different chain and we have no exclusion period, we just ask parents to get a docs appt for drops/confirmation of a case (so we can inform other parents if it spreads) x
