Advice or words of encouragement

So I’m a new momma and my sweet girl is going to be one in nine days! But recently I’ve been feeling like a failure cause she can’t crawl or walk yet. She was born with hip dysplasia and had to wear a palvik harness for two months and then later we were told she had low muscle tone. We’ve been doing physical therapy for a couple months now but I personally don’t know anyone who has been through this before and I’m just having a hard time with it all and feel really helpless.

Hi, how are you? How’s your little one getting on now? I hope you are both doing okay.

I am in the same boat as you and also really struggling to cope with it!

My daughter has just turned one. We have been told she is hypermobile in her hips, knees and ankles and has low muscle tone (hypotonia) in her legs. She bum shuffles but doesn’t crawl. She has pulled to stand a few times but locks her knees so doesn’t use her muscles. She is having a blood test next week and i’m worrying so much! She is happy, smiley, knows her name, babbles etc… but she has also has tiny feet, slow growth, is always poorly… 😥

She is also having an xray to check for hip dysplasia (i had it as a baby but her 6 week ultrasound was clear!)

Did they say hip dysplasia could be linked to low muscle tone? Did she bum shuffle? Did she roll?

I am also blaming myself… I should have done more tummy time… I should have used the carrier less… I should have spent more time teaching her skills… It is horrible isn’t it? 😢
