Dark green poo after switching to anti reflux milk

I switched my 14 week old to anti reflux milk as she’s been having a hard time with reflux. She is also on omeprazole. We’ve been on SMA anti reflux milk for about 5 days now and have noticed instantly that her stool is dark green in colour and looser consistency. It also smells so terrible. She is going after every feed or at least farting a lot. This is not usually normal for her as she is a once a day kinda girl. She is still vomiting a fair amount as before and the fact that they don’t recommend using the hotshot method doesn’t instill me with a lot of faith. I’m considering stopping after we finish this tub to give it a fair go but what would you recommend. Should I revert back to the normal SMA we were on or try a different anti reflux brand ? GP has been incredibly useless and HV won’t take my calls or answer my texts. Please help! Thanks

My son is on hypoallergenic milk and his stools have become much looser, changed colour and also goes more often but this is common with milk that has some enzymes broken down. I’m not sure what the instructions are for making your little girls milk is but for the one we use the water has to be at room temperature as not to destroy the nutritional value and nutrients he needs in the milk. The difference in him is unreal though he’s like a new baby - I can deal with smelly poo and burps for a happier baby. Comfort milk might be better than anti reflux milk.

I started my little one on aptimal anti reflux and worked really well. But decided to give SMA anti reflux a go she started vomiting loads and her stool was also green. So we ended up going to aptimal again and it has worked wonders. You could try cow and gate or aptimal.

@Louise thank you for your input. What is the difference between Anti reflux and Comfort? So glad your little one is doing a lot better ♥️

@Saff thank you Saff. Did the green stool subside eventually?

I believe comfort milk helps with colic as well as reflux but I might be wrong about that - I know before my little boy went on to his prescribed milk the infant feeding team suggested anti reflux and comfort milk

@Louise thank you, I’ll do some more research.

The green stool disappeared once we stopped using the SMA one. It’s only green to them digesting the formula. We only changed back to aptimal cause the SMA one did nothing for her reflux.

Comfort milk is making my little ones poo green, apparently it’s the extra iron in the formula

I am in exactly the same situation as you, all health care professionals have been useless and it’s worsened by the fact my babies on the 2nd centile
