For those of you that have had or booked your HV check, how small is the 'small cube of bread' meant to be? Similar size to a 1p coin or is that too big?
I feel like my little girl is only hitting about 50% of the tasks so I'm feeling a bit worried about the visit. Has anyone else felt like that?

My HV team managed to forget to add the questionnaire to the email they sent (after I called as I hadn’t heard owt about the review) ~ so who knows what the questionnaire has for us 😝

Ite basically just asking if they have a pincer or palmer grasp. If they can pincer a small cube (crouton style) that's a tick

same here. Mines on wednesday and i havent had a questionaire😂 i heard something about a pea in a bottle? Like idk ive not given her a pea in a bottle🫠

mines Thursday.
Just been to the clinic to get a form and guess what - “working from home” 🤯

I left the pea in a bottle question because I just had no idea haha and the HV was like yeah everyone says the same thing and just left it 😆

I’ve just got my copy - there’s no way my little girl is meeting a lot of these. I’m an Occupational therapist so not in the slightest bit worried - but some people could be not realising this is up to 12 months. It’s like they want them to recite the alphabet backwards ‼️‼️

This is the questionnaire, if helpful to those who haven’t had it!

https://youtu.be/jt6V3RPCevc this video comes to mind
There's some stuff here that even at 12 months is hard and not developmentally a red flag its really worrying when tou are a first time parent!
I know this time so im less stressed... but also aware my little wont meet some of it as he spent months with leg casts on due to clubfoot (doesn't quite have the leg strength for all the standing up bits

I’ll watch this now!!!
Thank you!
By 1 they should
- be fluent in Japanese
- be able to build a competitive sandcastle
- write with both hands
- use chop sticks
- score a goal
- use the Tesco self service check out independently 😂

Thanks everyone, I won't worry about it too much 😂🙈

Ive just done it and my girl is waaay behind on gross motor😂 no chance is she walking along the sofa with one hand or bending down to pick up a toy? She cant even crawl yet. She only rolled at 8 months😂😂 yes she's a bit slow but i know she will get there eventually!
Shes constantly shouting growling and banging toys about, girl just wants to be heard

i just gave my girl a pea in a bottle to see what she'd do😂😂 she scowled at it and tried to eat the plastic

😂 I reckon my son would do the same, I have to applaud your commitment to it though!

@Rachael mine just tried to eat it too! She's teething so much she doesn't actually look at anything before it goes in her mouth 🙈

I wouldn’t worry too much honestly. We had ours last week and my LG can do all of the things on the questionnaire but they don’t expect them to. The hv was very very shocked and she looked at me like I was lying but my LG ended up doing a lot of the things in front of her😂the 10 month questionnaire I think it was might’ve been the 12 month one tho is done on points and as long as they’re points add up to under 45 then they’re fine they say. If you tick yes then that’s 0 I believe sometimes is 5 not too sure about the no option. Every baby has things they’re a little behind on and ours is her size😂they all get there eventually x

What appointment is this? My girl is 10m and haven't heard anything from the HV or received a questionnaire. She did say she may invite us as 1 year review instead on our last visit as she was happy with progress. Is this mandatory?

it's a 10-12 month review. My local area are doing them closer to age 1 currently

thank you. Maybe ours will be later as well then thanks will just wait it out

none of the health visitor services are mandatory x

Thanks all just got contacted for an appointment. X
