Hey mums,
My 20-month-old has always been attached to me (as he should be!), but I’ve noticed he’s become even clingier lately—especially after a recent bout of sickness. He gets really upset if I leave the room, even just to go to the bathroom or grab something quickly.
With that being said, he’s also refusing to sleep in his own bed. I’ve struggled with this anyway, but now as soon as I try to put him in his cot, he cries—something he didn’t do before.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just a phase, and do you have any tips to help him feel more secure? Would love to hear your experiences! Thank you 💓

My daughter has been like this since she was 1. She’s 4 now and still the same 😭. When she’s sick she literally wants to live in my skin. I think it’s because they’re going through something stressful and the only way they know how to cope is to go to their safe space (which is Mommy). Reminding him that Mommy will always be back can be a way to reassure him. Also try a weighted stuffed animal as a safety toy. He can take this everywhere with him and the weight of them tend to soothe anxiety a bit.

Thank you my little one is the same he literally now wants to co sleep 24/7 and needs to feel my hand around him or he has to put his hand on my face or hold my hand. It’s super cute but obviously in the long term not comfortable 😵💫
