Am in my 30s and ashamed that I still leak during my period 🩸

Dunno I feel like as an adult I shouldn't be still having accidents. Do you leak during period 🩸 and stain your clothes?

I use a menstrual cup (and a back up liner on heavy days) and I haven't had to worry about leaks in ages

Avatar

I don’t think I’ve ever had a period where I haven’t! No matter what I use

Avatar

I’m a heavy bleeder so I can literally have to change a tampon upto 3 times an hour so I 100% understand the leaking.

Avatar

Yup. Sure do. Some people just have heavier periods then others. On my heavy days I have to make sure I’m changing my pad every couple hours.

Avatar

Use multiple sanitary pads, go wild if you have to - 3 in the front, 3 in the middle, 3 at the back, all stacked up.😂 Whatever keeps the leaking at bay!!! I'm guessing it works though I never go that wild!

Avatar

That's nothing to be ashamed of at all

It just happens, probably more common than you expect.

The other day I woke up and from my waist to my knees, my pyjamas & bedding was COVERED in blood. I had a maternity pad on and it wasnt enough. It even got on my baby. I had only been asleep a couple hours.

I cant lie Ive just stopped leaving my house on days where its that bad, and use a puppy pad & blankets on the sofa xx

No. I use a cup during the day w period G’s (like a G string but with 3 layers for absorbency) and at night I wear heavy flow period undies and I don’t leak. My night period undies hold up to 8 tampons worth 😳

Avatar

I had to change my underwear this morning bc I got blood on them even tho I had a pad on. Sometimes I can bled through my tampon & pad. It is what it is, I can't control my flow

Avatar

the smallest diva cup can hold 4 tampons’ worth and the bigger diva cup can hold 6 tampons’ worth. You can’t control your flow but you can control the methods and products you are using for collection/absorption. That and a period undies will pretty much guarantee no leaks. All the comments above who leaks are using tampons or pads.

Avatar

I dont leak because my periods have never been that heavy. I feel for women like yourself who have this struggle.

Avatar

yeah, I'm still trying to figure out the menstrual cup bc sometimes that leaks but I that's bc I'm not doing it right (takes practice lol) but thanks for the tip. Period undies are nice. I had them for postpartum bleeding.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
