My little one had his yesterday. He's been hot but no fever. He won't put any weight on the leg he had the mrsa vaccine in though and keeps touching his leg crying - is this normal? Xxx
Hello, vaccine nurse (and FTM) here! Any side effects can last up to 72 hours. It’s the meningitis B that tends to cause the fever but just keep on top of your paracetamol and it should start going down. Again, with the mumps thing, keep an eye. It should wear off after 72 hours. The only possible longer term side effect is the appearance of a rash after the MMR. This can happen anywhere up to 14 days post vaccine! Hope little one is ok xxx

@Abbie thank you! Mild Fever seems to still be present and this is going in to the 2nd day so I’m waiting to hear from the doc. She also is very snotty and I keep seeing people saying this happened with their little ones?!
@Abbie can a fever come on up to 14 days after too? We’re on holiday and she’s burning up, keeps throwing up after coughing and got what looks like little heat spots. We’re not sure if it’s just the heat, + the cold she had when we flew, a tummy bug or vaccine symptoms
@Emma side effects like fever and flu like symptoms would not appear or last longer than 72 hours. I’d say that’s unrelated to the vaccine and it’s another cause! Hope she feels better soon♥️♥️
@Abbie thanks for clarifying! Poor baby threw up again during her afternoon nap and twice straight after her night feed. Her temperature was good all day and she was perfectly fine and now she’s burning up again. 37.5 degrees when I measured earlier so higher than normal but not technically a fever. It’s so hard to know what to do!
@Emma ohhhh poor little bubs 😔 I think all you can do is keep her well hydrated and monitor her. Horrible seeing them poorly isn’t it but they really are so resilient! I’m sure she will bounce back over the next couple of days xxx
@Emma we all had a sickness bug a few weeks ago so it could be this? Hope baby girl feels better soon!
@Abbie thank you. The temperature seems to have gone so it’s just the cough, ridiculously runny nose and gagging when she’s sometimes sick now
My little girl had hers 2 weeks ago , she’ had a temp for the first 48 hours and then has been on and off with a cold ever since. Then 10 days after she got a rash/spots all over her stomach and back which I did get checked out at the doctors and it was off the back of her jabs
