Is Barry’s and Soul Cycle safe while pregnant

Hi ladies, I’m in my first trimester (4w+3d). I am a regular at Barry’s and Soul Cycle, but I was just wondering if anyone knows if it’s safe for baby’s hearing since the music is usually so loud (I always wear earplugs when I workout)? Probably a silly concern but just in case anyone has had similar worries

Heya, I’m a pre-postnatal personal trainer. In terms of baby’s hearing it’s fine, however I would strongly advise avoiding any high intensity exercise during pregnancy. Swap for more moderate things such as jogging. Hope this helps. C xx

I did Barry’s the whole way through right up to 3 days before baby but I spoke a lot with 2 trainers that I trusted at every stage. They won’t encourage you to go mad and it’s very possible to do just at a gradually slower pace and then with lighter weights. Ask for modifications etc I got a post partum specialist PT now and she’s been absolutely incredible doing exercises from 3 weeks post partum- not actually exercise just breathing and gradually strengthening into getting back in to a routine tailored to your specific needs. I’m so so glad I didn’t stop, it really made pregnancy a lot more enjoyable. x

I've been to Barry's 3x a week until I was 30 weeks, and I had to stop because carpal tunnel, otherwise I would have kept going. Make sure you speak to the trainers, your exercises should be amended. Pls note that I only DF'd from like wk 8 ish, I couldn't run for shit in my first tri I was going 4x a week before I got pregnant and just kept going at the same pace rather than trying to lift heavier than my usual

I used my peloton/weight trained my whole pregnancy, and attended a few soil cycles. The main thing is to make modifications as your bump grows like raising the handlebars so you’re more upright, also reducing intensity a bit. I found exercise during pregnancy super helpful mentally and physically (I had no aches/pains), and there are many benefits to baby in the short and long-term.

Thank you everyone for the great advice!! This is actually so encouraging. Looking forward to keeping to my routine then (with some careful modifications!)
