C section incision help

Hi girls, I’m 3 weeks post partum with c section and I have what they call an “apron belly” where my incision is under a flap of skin under my belly and it’s a bit TMI but it’s starting to smell under there where the skin is rubbing against eachother. The only way I can describe the smell is like the inside of your belly button. Is there anything I can use to help clean it? I’ve started doing salted boiled cool water to clean it and placing cotton pads underneath the skin to stop the moisture but any other help would be amazing!

I’d maybe speak to doctor about an anti fungal cream?

@Emily Timbrell i asked my midwife If I could put sudocream or something on it and she advised I wouldn’t be allowed until I was 6 weeks PP

It could be from moisture getting trapped after a shower? Maybe letting it fully air dry and patting dry could help?

@Alex yes I was doing this last night laying in bed lifting my stomach up…wasn’t a pretty sight 😂 I think I’ll need to keep doing it when I’m just lounging around

Wash it with warm water daily sometimes twice a day, pat dry and then leave the rest to air dry until 6 weeks there’s a lot a lot you can do other then this After 6 weeks anti fungal cream like vagisil is great and use talc to help soak up some of the moisture xx

Hi lovely, I had this issue and went to the GP. They gave me an antibiotic cream called fusidic acid xx

My midwife put sudocrem on mine at my discharge appt which was 4 weeks post c section x

Cleaning it twice a day with warm water and patting dry with a clean towel, throughout the day use a sanitary towel folded in half length ways under your belly to help soak up any moisture throughout the day!
