Will I be dilated?

I’v been having regular contractions for over three hours and the home-birth midwife will be checking on me soon. But my waters haven’t gone and not sure if I’ve lost my mucus plug either. The pain is manageable with a tens machine. Will I even be dilated or is this just the very start of labour? (I’ve been having cramps all day since I woke up but just started timing them over three hours ago)

My waters didn’t go until just before delivery with my second so could well be!! I would say the contractions are a bit far apart I think, but could still mean dilation so hoping it all goes well for you!! I had a beautiful home birth yesterday morning and really hoping the same for you 🥹

Hey there! They look pretty good to me. Maybe a tiny bit long between them but there are certainly cases where 5 mins frequency is normal for an individual. I didn't pass any mucus and my waters didn't break until i began getting the urge to push. My timeline was contractions every 3mins from midday, 2cm by 3pm, stayed at 4cm until 5pm, baby born at 8pm! It's quite normal in my family to progress slowly at first then fast from 4-10cm. Fingers crossed you'll be meeting baby soon!

I was having irregular contractions but the pain was really bad, they actually told me your only 3cm and contractions aren't that often but didn't send me home cos my waters had broken beforehand and it's 3rd baby so I jus went for a walk and came back ready to push! 🤯
