My Mum came to visit today and she was by the changing table when I did his nappy. She made a motion like she was going to touch his willy and I said ‘please don’t do that’. She then went ahead and did it anyway-gave it a quick tickle and I honesty feel like violated and abused on behalf of my son. Am I overreacting? She says she didn’t mean it that way which I do believe, but still-I’m fuming!

Yeah I can understand how you feel! I wouldn’t stand for that times have changed and it’s not acceptable! As innocent as it was we teach our children that it’s not right for others to touch them there unless it’s for medical etc

Address this with her again as soon as possible. Make it very clear this is a boundary crossed, and unacceptable. You can tickle his toes, not his private parts. Absolutely not

That is just so weird, and there's absolutely no reason why she should do that and think it's acceptable. Why would she even think to do that?

It depends on what kind of relationship you have with your mum, I wouldn’t care at all and would say its overreaction but everyone is different

I’m actually so over dramatic I would cut all contact, it’s weird behaviour and I get so scared of anything happening to my babies. But I cut my mum off years ago so maybe I’m not a good adviser. You can’t take back trauma, once it’s happened there’s no going back sadly x

I'm sorry, but I can't get over how wierd that is, like people may tickle the babies tummy but his willy? No, if your dad done it, would you play it down ? (Not daying you are either)Is it different because she's a woman... no
I'd cut contact, and I'd never leave baby alone with her if that's her idea of playing with my baby.
