I say funny because if you deal with craziness daily somethings are going to be funnier.
My mums an alcoholic fyi and was heavy in it at this point, she also struggled to keep jobs. I'm about 21 and haven't lived at home for years, she always rings to ask for money despite the fact I'm on a low wage.
Anyway she rings me and asks for £150 and I'm like no, but she knows I've been saving for a holiday that I'm going on in about a week or so. So she says I get paid on Friday I can give it back to you then. A bit of back and forth, I remind her I'm going on holiday so will need it back as its part of my spending money, she promises, begs, cries, etc, and eventually I say okay and send it to her. She promises to send it back on the Friday.
What happens on the Friday? She blocks me lmao and refuses to speak to me for 2 months. And she hasnt had a penny from me since 10 years later, doesnt even ask now. Best £150 I'd ever spent
Tell me your family crazy please but lighthearted

I used to live surrounded by my friends when I was younger, they were all older by about 4 years so they were in high school (just) and me and my sister were about 7. So I used to think they were really cool and badass, and I heard them say cool sayings and slang.
Anyways, before school, mum would get us to wait by the door with our bags and lunches when we were ready to go. She was looking in the mirror, dressed up a bit. Can't remember for the life of me why.
Anyways, she asked me how she looked. I thought this was the perfect time to use some of my cool friends' sayings. I genuinely thought mum looked really nice. And I said, " awhh, mum, you look like crap.".... I got the biggest back hander across the face. My ears were ringing. She stormed off to the car with my sister. I just stood there in stunned silence. Wondering what on earth I had done wrong.
I just stood there stunned my face burning
Mum started honking the horn to hurry me along. I was silent the whole way to school.

As soon as I got to class, I burst into tears. It was years before I learned that crap wasn't a compliment and was something bad.
For years, I wondered why she had hit me like that.

Once as a surprise my mom got my sister’s wedding dress restored and “so I wouldn’t feel left out” (I’m the older sister, unmarried at the time), she also got my debutante dress restored too. She presented the restored dresses during some family reunion, so there was an audience, potential for family lore. I saw her bringing the dress out, grabbed my plate and drove home.
