I’m in need of some advice, what are we all doing about returning to work? Due back to work in May but cannot get childcare funding until September. Can extend and take unpaid leave until August which will be make money tight. Do we all have support from families? Do we all have super flexible working hours? Like how is everyone doing it?

I’m returning at the end of June and a mixture of paying for childcare and family helping. My baby was born beginning of September xx

I go back end of April & we’re just going to have to struggle until funding kicks in unfortunately. X

Is using your annual leave once your mat leave is finished a possibility? I have heard of a few mums planning to do so, to give them some additional time off but I’m not too sure how this works

I'm lucky as me and my partner work at the same place and one of us can do mornings, and the other evenings, but otherwise we'd struggle an awful lot 😭

Im not sure what the number is for the childcare funding but if you ring them and explain your circumstances they can sometimes give you a temporary code for the funding until September

I feel lucky as my partner is taking off every other Monday so i will do a full day, and every other Tuesday my parents will have my son for a full day. Then just work from home in the evenings or during nap times. Also, I know lots of people don’t have the option but I don’t want my son to go to nursery yet.. just my own personal opinion and like i say, very lucky i have family to support x

I start a new job next week when my lo will be 7.5months. He's got his trial days at nursery this week. Depends on alot of things but you may be entitled to some help from the government. I'm entitled to some money towards his nursery costs. It's worth asking the question?

I go back full time in September. My mat leave ends mid June (unpaid from mid May) and am back on full pay with annual leave from then until September, I’m quite fortunate that my works holiday entitlement is very generous so I have 12 odd weeks to take to keep me going until we can get the funded childcare.
