Infection Advice please

I had an end where the knot was and it kept a bit of s scab and was red and raised for nearly 3 months and my gp was no help either but it did eventually go away.but saying that mine looked more pimple that came on top of it.

Is it possible to speak to a midwife or maternal health nurse and see their opinion rather than a general one?

I think if it was infected you'd probably have more discharge on your dressing, mine got infected in a different part of my scar and there was so much discharge. But that's also just me experience I'm definitely not a medical professional 😅 i hope you get some better help soon

Have they swabbed it? I was out on the same antibiotic and fhe swab came back and that antibiotic the infection was resistant to it. So I needed another antibiotic. Mine was dressed every 3-5 days with the nurse and I dressed it in between. Once healed 3 days later 1 week after antibiotic it was raised, red and sore again do dr gave me another dose of the 2nd antibiotics just about to finish this course now and I'd say it is better. How many days post surgery are you?

I think this is a panacilin based antibiotic based on the ended and like Gemma I was also resistant ended up having to take 3 different antibiotics as they proscribed penicillin twice the end seems like mine the infection used one end of the scar to flush out and try and take all the nasty stuff out my body it’s a good thing because it means your body is also fighting the issue
