Hi all, my boy is currently in the pulling to stand phase and will pull up on everything. All he wants to do is stand. But he's not got the hang of getting himself back down onto the floor so eventually he'll get frustrated and upset because he's "stuck" any ideas how I can teach him to get down safely or is it just something they learn themselves through trial?
I've seen him do it a handful of times but he mostly seems to just wait for me to help him down š

No tips as mine hasn't learnt do this gracefully yet. Currently he just plonks himself down onto his bum š

Give him time, he will soon figure it out. My little girl has just learned how to get down safely and I didnāt teach her āŗļø

As above they just learn naturally to sit down from standing! Best thing you can do is let him do it himself and donāt do it for him, he might take a tumble or two but theyāll get the hang of it soon enoughš

The issue I think I'm having is we have laminate everywhere and when he stands up against the sofa he's fell backwards a couple of times and bumped his head. Obviously nothing major and it's just more of a shock than anything but I think it's now made him fear the attemptš„ŗ I thought about laying cushions on the floor behind him at first but I also need him to learn that cushions aren't always gonna be there for him to dive onto haha

Iāve been there! My little girl hit her head off our patio doors and had an egg sized lump but was thankfully went down quickly and it faded to nothing. Do you keep him barefoot? I find that helps with grip and just in general for sensory, I only put socks/tights on when we go outsideš¤
