Has anyone been experiencing pregnancy related carpel tunnel or wrist tendonitis? I am so uncomfortable, I'm suffering really badly with girdle pain and ligament pain, which I understand is caused by relaxin, the same thing that can cause pregnancy related carpel tunnel.
It's so bad that I can't use one of my arms to get out of bed in the middle of the night, which is making my many bathroom trips a real struggle.
I just wondered if anyone has experienced the same and if you found anything that works for you?

I have it post partum. Mainly as my so has colic so I'm always comforting him. I am having physio

I had it from 8 months pregnant until about 7 months postpartum! I’d recommend getting a wrist support as that helps with movements and then see you gp for steroid injections in your wrist as that was the only thing that cured me x hope that helps x
Thank you both, that's really helpful! I had read that it can disappear as soon as you have your baby, but it sounds lime that's wishful thinking!

I used a wrist support the one with a metal rod in and it did help a little. I had it when pregnant for the last 2 months maybe and by the time we left the hospital after giving birth it had gone!
I'm really hoping this will be the case for me! I've just ordered a support, it's just super frustrating because I like to crochet and draw, and I can't really manage either currently. So I'm rather bored! I'm 29 weeks currently and I've had it for 2 weeks or so.
Thank you! I'm going to throw everything at it and hope for the best! 🤞🤞

Definitely the wrist supports. I had carpal tunnel pre pregnancy so mine got really bad during pregnancy. You can’t have steroid injections during pregnancy (the steroid is fine but it’s the local anaesthetic they inject with it that you can’t have). I ended up having both hands operated on and it’s cured my carpal tunnel. But like I say I had this pre-pregnancy so don’t think you are going to need an operation

I had it from about 5 months and it disappeared pretty much instantly after giving birth, bizarre! The only thing that helped was a wrist support for me x

I have it now (had it my last pregnancy too) it’s so annoying. I’m at the point now where I can barely write with a pen 😂. They won’t give you anything other than a splint unfortunately. The good news is a few days free birth is goes in the blink of any eye!

I have carpel tunnel, it started around 12 weeks pregnant and I’m now 22 weeks and it’s unbearable I don’t know what to do. I’m a lash tech and aesthetician it’s affected my job and everything it’s an actual nightmare isn’t it!
I have physio tomorrow but doctor said himself it likely won’t do anything as it’s pregnancy induced. I feel your pain :(
I’ve got wrist straps which help a little at night, as it’s deffo worse at night! So give them a go but nothing gets rid of it :( x
It really is a nightmare, I just feel like I'm losing more mobility as the days go on! I really feel for you if it's affecting your work too, especially given you got a way to go.
It is typical that it would affect our dominant hands.
@Naomi I really hope this is the case. Can't imagine lifting and moving a baby with it!
