Unexpected Doctors Appointment

Today did not go as planned… I’ve had extreme anxiety while driving ever since our car accident in 2022. Today, we bought a new car and went from the dealership to baby appointment. My first blood pressure reading was “slightly elevated” but I contributed it to working myself up for the Strep B test. After the test, we did another reading… significantly lower. After checking on baby, my doctor requested labs for preeclampsia and said if my reading was high next week we would induce at 37w. He also suggested to monitor at home. Once we got home, I took it and completely normal… we’re going to go to our next appointment EARLY to give my stress levels time to decrease but can’t help but feel a little discouraged.

I should add that every other appointment has been normal and we did go visit my parents this last week! What is usually a 4 hour car ride, turned into a 6.5 hour ride with traffic… so a lot of car stress the past week :-)

Seems a little dramatic for the doc to declare an induction so early just based on a couple of slightly high BP readings 🙄 Especially if labs don't indicate pre-eclampsia, which I thought was just the presence of certain protein in urine. My doc is suddenly stressing me out at the 11th hour too and it's made me salty. Like I thought she was just chill bc everything has been going well, but now I feel like she hasn't been paying attention.

he said he was running bloodwork and an additional urine sample from the lab as an “abundance of precaution” … he also knows I have a tendency to spiral and panic so he told me not to worry about it yet. I will find out tomorrow or Wednesday what the labs show, but I did bloodwork at 30 weeks and it was completely normal 🤷🏻‍♀️ now I feel like my blood pressure is just going to remain high out of stress.

I’m so sorry you are experiencing the same stress.. it feels like I’ve taken 10 steps back so I feel your frustration

I’m the same way, I just want to be sure my baby is okay and I am healthy/deliver safely. I trust my doctor, I was just a bit surprised / discouraged after everything. I hope it goes well for you! Sending good thoughts

Omg I’ve also experienced high Bo when at the drs office ( 159/95 or higher) yet perfectly normal at home (130/82). Not terribly high when at rest.

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭

When to prepare?

I’m 34w1d with my second baby. Today at my midwife appointment she said baby is 2/5 engaged, I’ve packed my hospital bags but unsure when to start building baby’s crib. Installing car seat ect. When is everyone else doing these things?

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
