Hello mothers, and mummy to be I am worried and if anyone can give advice please share.
I know as a woman this is the most precious and greatest achievement in our life to create a human being inside us and that is the main focus until we leave this world it's all about our child. I want to do right for this child and I am slowly panicking about what the outside worlds will react to it π.
So going straight to the point I work as technically a bell person who lifts up 20kg and above suitcase on to a trolley and stands on my feet (struggling) for a 9 hour shift.
I have decided there is a job opportunity to move to reception, where they don't have to move luggage or stand up that much for their shift.
I know I have the right to go for the interview whether I am pregnant or not, the issue I am having is when do I tell them you will need to find maternity cover before September?
I understand I don't need to let them know for a long time but they do need to step up a risk assessment, and I am waiting for them to tell me if I have got the receptionist job this week π€π».
If you ladies were in or are in the same situation how would you proceed to let them know. I don't want to lie but if they caught me off guard do they have any legal stand once they find out.
Thank you

I had got a new job but I JUST found out I was preggas (nurse), i didn't tell anyone, you and your family's future comes first. If this is a opportunity for you and a better future, who cares. You come first. And working when you're heavily preggas in a manual intensive job is sooo painful, I'm a nurse, and I was dying

Firstly, you're not duty bound to tell your employer anything until 20 weeks.
But more importantly, the reception job sounds like it would suit you much better during pregnancy anyway! A risk assessment would mean you couldn't lug huge bags around further into your pregnancy. So kind of a win win?
Also...your greatest achievement in life can be whatever you want it to be; mother or not. I had my daughter 8 weeks ago and feel so proud and happy, but I'm also proud of other things I've achieved and who I am as a person. You should be too! And good luck mama! Let us know how you get on ππͺ
Thank you I will xxx
