How are you mums getting on with your toddler while being pregnant baby no2?

So I am 38 weeks and 2 days. The past few weeks have been soo stressful and just frustrating. My little one is constantly, crying, screaming and just now started to act up. She doesn’t want anything and is throwing things on the floor. I am thinking that as the time is getting close, maybe she sensing the changes happening.

I am trying to now start slowing down and to give myself time to rest. As being around her is getting hard. Changing her clothes, washing her, even being out with her is getting hard. I don’t want to feel stress or put stress on the baby, as I feel like I am.

What are you mums doing to control your toddler in this situation and how are you feeling in yourselfs??

It is sooooo tough!! 🫠 luckily my husband has been home the past few weeks which has massively helped as our daughter is only just taking steps so can’t walk and needs carrying everywhere. It’s not even the tantrums I’m finding hard, it’s the every day stuff like lifting her out of bed and into the car/pram etc!!
I’m taking every possible chance to rest and still absolutely exhausted. I keep reminding myself I’m on my last week just us and her so to be as patient as possible even though it can be really testing! 🥲

37+4 and my two year old is a lot right now. I’m trying to soak up every last moment I have with him while it’s just us (my oldest is at school in the day) but it’s such hard work and so exhausting. I wouldn’t even say he’s particularly a difficult kid. He’s a sweetheart and he just wants to play all day but 😴 I really just want to sleep.
Getting out the house definitely helps us both. But even doing that feels like a challenge atm!
He has been a bit clingier towards the end but I have been trying to offer up some boundaries too so maybe that’s why. I don’t want him to think that he can just demand something and receive it (prepping for feeding baby and not being able to jump to it etc) so I’ve been making him wait more.

Definitely using Ms Apple on YouTube to make nappy changes easier when she's in a fighty mood, but overall if we get out the house once a day (generally in the morning) she's a lot calmer for the afternoon. Nap with her when I can. Fortunately she's confidently walking now after only starting about a month ago but still likes being carried at times. Making the most of support around me though. Definitely getting tired now. 😴

I'm the exact same!! I'm 37 weeks and my daughter has been the same. I've definitely not been able to play with her as much as she wants (knackered!) So sometimes feel like she just has a lot if pent up energy. But I also think she's sensing change!! Hoping things improve when baby comes but god knows 🫠🫠🫠 your not alone!

Have you been telling them you’re having another baby all this time? My LG knows and tells me I have a baby in my tummy, she’s just 2. I’ve bought her a bigger baby doll to play with, she has a pram, and gonna use her original Moses basket (I found it too short so got a new one) to play with and feed her baby. It’s deffo helped, I try to involve her with everything.

Can say she doesn’t kick off, or cry etc, but she is mostly well behaved 🫣 (saying that with crossed fingers still). I have had to tell her no often when she asks to be picked up as I’m in for a section soon, and don’t want her to think I’m ignoring her, so I offer my hand instead and we hold hands instead and found that works too x

It's been sooo challenging! My 2.5 the last two weeks has been incredibly clingy and has started acting up this last week (hitting and shouting at us). I do think he can sense that change is coming but it's making me nervous for how we will handle two kids x

ahh yes definitely the moving around also. It is hard but hoping it does get better over time. 😊

yeah I haven’t been able too as much either. I have had to reduce my time being with her and even going to baby group/soft play is hard enough.

yes I haven’t been mentioning and telling her that where’s baby and she lifts up my top to tummy. Lol
I may try that tbh. 😇 xo
