Tummy time

My daughter hates yummy time when I put her on a completely flat surface. We do a lot of our tummy time on my chest or propped up on a little pillow. She still isn't a fan but she doesn't get as cranky as quickly if she's a little elevated 😅

I got that crab for my daughter and now she likes watching that while being on her belly.

My 2 month old son also hates it but he is getting so good at holding his head up! He just likes to do it on our chest instead of the floor. We still try to put him on the floor and sometimes prop him up on a boppy pillow for a few minutes.

Tummy time on your chest counts

My son hated it at first too. I just did it for short periods but OFTEN at first and tried distracting him with whatever would hold his attention. We also used a rolled blanket or a boppy to help prop him up, did lots of tummy time on our chests and while I’m holding him, I supported his neck gently but allowed him to use that time as well to practice holding his head up. Now he’s pretty happy in tummy time (he still expires lol) but we have to have the contrast cards out or a mirror for him to keep his attention.

My baby is 7 weeks and has only ever done tummy time when laid on me😂

I use my chest 95% of the time and then when she’s like EXTRA happy my 2mnth daughter I put her on her play mat and she’s good

Can we all agree that tummy time on the floor before like 4-5 months old just absolutely sucks?! Mine have always screamed no matter what I did, how I entertained, whatever they just screamed. This baby I haven’t even bothered and he’s on my chest most of the day anyways and the doctor said he’s doing great. Do what works best for you and baby and doesn’t stress you out!
