Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello, my son is at nursery and the last 3 days he has been sent home with a temperature, I’ve left work to collect him but as soon as he is home he is absolutely fine, he doesn’t have a cold or a cough, nursery have said they have a rule about if there temperature goes over 38 then they have to go home which I totally understand but I can’t seem to understand what is wrong with him, he is really well within him self, had anyone experienced this? Yes, my first was like this sometimes. As soon as she'd had a bit of food at home, she was fine again. Not sure if she just didn't like what they had for tea that day, and heating is on quite high in most nurseries/baby rooms, which made her feel a bit funny.
But I thought all nurseries require 24hours off nursery after having a temperature, before they're allowed to return, as that's what the NHS says.

Can you check his temperature as soon as you collect him? Is it genuinely 38 or are they getting it wrong?

My LO runs very hot and can feel like she has a temperature if she’s wearing too many clothes. Are they overdressing him?
